Celebrities join forces to back Bananafish
Wednesday 06 April 2011
Celebrities around the UK are joining forces to raise money for Kayla Jones from Liverpool.
Kayla Jones will be four years old in July 2011. She was diagnosed with severe autism at a young age and although she is very loving with her family, she can be extremely isolated, she struggles to socially interact and is non-verbal. With recent developments in therapies having opened up a wide range of treatments for children like Kayla, her family are putting on several events to raise vital funds for these treatments, which obviously come at a premium.
Kayla’s Auntie, Joanna Jones is Managing Director of Bananafish Management and she has called on some famous friends to help her reach her goal.
Joanna said, “As a family, we’re desperate for Kayla to lead a ‘normal’ life and I know how lucky I am to have some good contacts, so it seemed common sense to put them to good use.”
Joanna has some familiar faces on board to help out (photos below). Celebrities including Jodie Marsh, Skating On Ice Star Denise Welch, Grange Hill Actor Chris Perry Metcalf, Ex Brookside Stars Suzanne Collins and Steven Pinder, Coronation Street Star Andrew Lancel and Hollyoaks Actors Anthony Quinlan and Nick Pickard are amongst those on board to help spread the word.
