Fistful of Collars at The Royal Court

Tuesday 20 April 2010

Our very own Suzanne Collins is back at Liverpool's Royal Court Theatre this week starring in A Fistful of Collars.

It's the latest comedy from the pen of Liverpool playwright Fred Lawless and is directed by the talented Bob Eaton who translated the script into a tight fast-moving comedy with the right mix of innuendo, slapstick and farce, liberally seasoned of course with the scouse humour for which the Royal Court is renowned.

Starring Suzanne Collins, Eithne Browne, Pauline Daniels, Lindzi Germain, Jake Abraham and Lenny Wood, the production is receiving rave reviews.

Dry cleaning is a simple business - people bring in their clothes, they get cleaned and then given back. But did you ever wonder why it takes so long? Pressing Matters is a drycleaners with a difference. As soon as the latest little number from Cricket is brought in by a customer the bright sparks behind the counter will have it on the rack at Foxy Frocks, their exclusive dress hire shop. It’s the only cleaners in town where the clothes work harder than the staff! There is only one problem - the girls’ landlord wants to up the rent. Well, two problems, because they’ve knocked out a policeman. Well, three because they’ve accidentally kidnapped Colleen Rooney. And the unconscious girl with the gun in a briefcase that doesn’t belong to them is a bit of a worry...

To find out what happens.....get down to the Theatre.  It runs until 15th May 2010.
