Willy Russell's 'Our Day Out' a MUST SEE!!
Tuesday 08 September 2009
Bananafish's very own Chris Mason has landed one of the leads in Willy Russell's fabulous new musical, 'Our Day Out'.
Our Day Out is the story of a class of underprivileged Liverpool schoolchildren on a day trip to Wales. It started life as a BBC play in 1976 and since then it’s had two incarnations on the professional stage – at the Everyman and Coventry’s Belgrade Theatre, both directed by Bob Eaton.
Bob has joined forces with Willy Russell again this time and the pair have written all new songs for the completely re-worked show. Bob says: “I can’t describe how exciting this is. The show will be a piece of physical theatre."
This is Chris's first major Theatre Production, in what has seen him being labelled in the press as "one to watch". After playing an ensemble part in 'Our Day Out' at the tender age of 13 for an audience of 27, Chris is now stepping up to the role of Ryan Reilly 5 years down the line in front of a considerably bigger audience.
Our Day Out stars Michael Starke, Drew Schofield and Chris Mason. It's on at The Royal Court Theatre, Liverpool and runs from Friday 11th September 2009 until Saturday 17th October 2009. For tickets visit www.royalcourtliverpool.co.uk
